Chances are approximately 100% that if it has an overdrive it's an M46.

If you don't think you have an overdrive, look for a switch on the shift knob. If there's a slide switch, you have an overdrive.

If you don't have a switch, either you have an M45, or someone has switched the knob. Look under the car, just aft of the tranny crossmember. If you think you see something that looks like a miniature auto tranny pan, you have an overdrive.
