Tom ---
Here's another possible source of A/C condensate dripping into the passenger compartment.
Remove the console right side panel just at that covered pipe. Push the "recirculate" button so it opens the air damper on the front on the heater-A/C unit. This damper, or door, is in between the heater unit and firewall, just above the transmission hump. It's about 2" from the firewall, so it's tight. You can just sneak your hand in there (from the pasenger side).
If you car's like mine, you'll find the front surface of the evaporator covered with miscellaneous leaves, pine needles, candy wrappers, etc. This stuff may be so dense that it's actually blocking the drain path from the front of the evaporator into the drain sump. I believe that garbage can build up enough to "wick" the condensation down the front of the evaporator, out and over the front lip where that damper is, and onto the transmission hump. And from there onto (or under) the carpet. Also, that stuff blocks the air flow, and so reduces the effectiveness of your A/C.
Try to clean out any stuff, particularly a leaf or paper, from the inside of the sump -- it can quickly block off the drain hose.
Regarding the rubber drain hose, a trick someone told me is to cut a small inverted "V" into the bottom flaps -- perhaps 3/16" -- so that can no longer stick together.
I bought a spool of that black insulati g tape and retaped the expansion valve and pipes on my car, and stopped the dripping from that source.
Good luck.
