diesel conversion: wiring questions 200 83

I'm trying to avoid wholesale transfer of the under-dash wiring harness from my 83 245 to my 84 244 (formerly diesel) which now has the donor's engine/tranny/cpu/under-hood harness transferred.

It appears I should be able to make a few select transfers/connections without disturbing all the chassis wiring the two cars share (lighting, etc). Has anyone out there done this conversion? Am I creating more problems than I'm avoiding in trying to leave the bulk of the harness in the 245? All responses appreciated!
