Headliner, revisited 120-130 1963

Greetings from sunny Cleveland, birthplace of Garrett Morgan, inventor of the traffic signal: Well, I've finally had my prize delivered and I thank all of you who have given me support and advice and leads on parts. You may recall that I had a line on a nice 122s, two door, California car, no rust, less than 50K actual miles, ratty interior, all for less than $600. No joke. It's all that, and a bag of chips! I'm happy, the Wife's kinda so-so (which is a GOOD THING around this household) and I'm even letting her pick the color (looking like white, orange, or the lime green that's on the new Beetles). I've spent the evening removing the twin SU HS6s in preparation for cleaning and tuning, since they have gummed up with about 10 years of gook and bad gas. This will be a piece of baklava since I've spent the last several years rebuilding British iron, and the layout on the B18 is exactly (and I mean it) like the Brits do it. Maybe a header while it's all apart, maybe one of those rad valve covers, who knows? Anyway, I digress. Here's the crux of this missive: I'm thinking up questions as I go along and I know that they've all been dealt with in one shape or another in this forum...but actually, I'm just too lazy to look up the answers in the archives. So here goes: (1) Give me the skinny on the JC Whitney headliner kit. On a 1-10 scale, ease of installation, satisfaction with the finished job, would you do it again, and bang for the buck. (2) ipd has a limited number of rubber parts for the car. Conspicuously absent are the gaskets or plinths for the tail lights, the turn signals, the door handles, and the headlight rings. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who does a restoration and doesn't replace these items (along with the windshield and rear window rubber) is just doing a half way job. Any sources for these itmes? (3) The clutch, as on most British cars is hydraulically activated (Girling, no less). Where can I get a rebuild kit for the master and the slave? Again, ipd wants to sell both for about $250 the pair. They can be rebuilt. (4) The thing still has some funky mis-matched bias ply skins on the wheels! What size radials are appropriate...and I'd like to put a 70-series on the car? That'll do for now. I'll wait with baited breath for the reply from any one out there who can help...and share their experiences. I'm looking forward to getting this on the road...at least for a shakedown cruise. Thanks.
