I'd appreciate a little help and pointing in the right direction. I need a couple of heat shields for my D24. I've GOT to pull #1 injector and re-torque it, and I have to have a new heat shield! I have scoured all the diesel shops around here and anywhere near here with no luck. The local Volvo dealership doesn't have them and doesn't want to order them. (I told 'em I'd BUY 'em, didn't want 'em for FREE, for pity's sake, but they weren't moved!) I have the Volvo part number (1257147) and have asked a lot of shops to cross ref and find me some. They all tell me I'll have to go to Volvo to get 'em. This CAN'T be true . . . can it? Isn't there some way to get the same heat shield from a non-Volvo source? Surely some Volkswagen diesel somewhere uses the same heat shield and I should be able to get them from SOMEPLACE . . . shoudn't I?

Can anybody give me a pointer in the right direction? Surely someone knows that if I get part no. xxxxxxx for, say, a Volkswagen diesel, for instance, it will be the same thing as the Volvo part. Help! I'm hitting dead ends everywhere I go and I'm NOT ready to shoot 'er and put 'er out of my misery just yet! Thanks !
