I did a recheck of the belt tension this morning on the 244 and I guess I had them alittle tighter than should be. So I loosened them a bit which seems to help, I hope anyway. I have come to beleave that Volvos have a looser spec for tightness than "old" detroit iron which is what I am use to. Them you tighten the belts, no amount of slack. Thanks to all for your input. I will check into the Hepu pump. Jim
