Hello
I own a Volvo 740 turbo 1987, 4 doors. The car is generally in good shape, and works well. We are not too strong on general motor maintenance, we do pretty much the basics.
This morning, we left the home. Nice weather, hot. Suddenly, after 3 km, the volvo lost his power. The motor was still running, but it had a hard time keeping his idle. I took the road again, and it also had a hard time going to 30 kmh or more. The turbo seemed to work well, the turbo indicator was going up if I hit the pedal suddenly, and the indicator would go down just after.
Regarding the power available, If i pushed the acceleration pedal too far, it was worse. I had to keep the pedal at about 25 % of his travel to keep some power. Eventually, after 2 or 3 kmh, The motor died. It would not start again.
Thanks for your advice in serching the problem.
Denis
