I have a 85 240 and the alternator is not charging. The lights on the the dash are staying on as well. The alt is good, so the alt place said. I by passed the blue or red in some cars that connects to the casing of the alt, to the gray little box. And still the car doesnt charge and the lights are still on the dash. I took out the wire harness to try to look for any decayed wires. I found none. Before I took out the wires I connect the meter to the back of the alt to see if it was charging nothing. The only other wire besides the major ground cable (blue) is the red one that goes to the bat. Is there anything else I can check. I need my car working soon, I have been without it for over month and half.
