Hi.
I do not have the directions here at work, but that is no matter. There are only three essential steps:
#1. POR marine cleaner must be used to clean tank of gum and ect... first. You put in the whole quart and rotate the tank "every 30 minutes" to ensure full and complete coverage. After I did that, I sloshed it around quite a bit. Drain, rinse. (I put it in, taped up the holes for this and every step.)
#2. An entire quart of the POR etching chemical is put into the tank. Again, rotate every 30 minutes and slosh etc.... rinse thoroughly.
!!!!!!! The tank must be ABSOLUTELY dry to put in sealer. The literature mentions this MANY TIMES. "The tank will NOT dry without your customer moving air through it!" I set a small fan on the hole where the gauge sensor goes. I would occasionally turn the tank upside down and shake out drops here and there. It was three days before I was convinced it was dry. The directions CLEARLY say that "if the customer tells you the tank did not seal, you can be sure the tank was not completely dry."!!!!!!!
#3. Then, I put it in, taped up the holes and did the 30 minute rotate deal. When I felt confident ALL was coated, I poured out the ecxess sealer (less than a 1/4 can came out) It is also important to make sure the tank is drying in a position where any "puddling" will not interfere with any lines etc....
One problem area I had was this: To keep the sealer from going on the threads, I stuffed paper wadding in them...well the paper stuck and the threads still got messed up. Luckily, I'm waiting on my carbs anyway, so I've had the time to clean out threads, fish out paper, etc... If I was to do it now, I would put in all the screws before hand, and then take them out before the stuff dried. It dries HARD!
Good Luck, I hope this helps.
