Re: Ignition Lock Cylinder 700 1988

You will have to dissamble the dash area enough to access the bolt which hold the lock cylinder in place. You have to either remove the dash assembly completely, or drop and remove the steering column assembly from the car to do this since the bolt has to be removed from the top. Neither of these jobs are for the faint of heart, or the amateur. Once you have access to the head of the bolt, you can most likely get a good enough grip on its round head to remove it with vice grips. If the vice grips fail, you must drill the bolt and remove it with an easy out. Once the bolt is removed, there is a spring loaded round pin that still retains the lock mechanism. You must push up on this pin, and then the lock assembly can be removed by sliding it out of its recess.
