oil pressure problem 900 95

i have a 95 960 with 114k miles with an unusual oil pressure problem that my repair shop nor I can solve. i'm hoping someone out their may know of this problem, know of someone that knows of this problem or can direct me to someone who can help me.

i've owned this car for 6 months with absolutely no problems except a noisy ps pump. suddenly the oil light went on and i then heard the valves complaining of no oil pressure. I had it towed to an independent Volvo shop owned by a former service manager of a franchised store. this is what we have done so far.(this engine does not have an engine oil cooler).

flushed the engine twice.

replace the oil filter and its check valve located in the pan.

replaced the oil pump, valve and spring.

blown out all the oil return passages.

pressure tested the pickup tube.

replace the oil pressure sensor.

visually inspected the engine with the pan and cam cover gasket off.

the pan was fairly clean for this many miles but the head had a little more builup that i thought was normal for the miles.

replaced everything above with genuine Volvo parts and sealer.

prayed.

from a cold start the engine will idle for hours, including running the rpms up, and the oil light stays off and there is oil pressure. then a short trip down the road produces the light and valve noise. a short cool down and everything is ok. sometimes the light goes on right from cold start up.

I can be reached at s_and_p@juno.com, 1-800-915-6375 d.p., 757-647-2250 phone. thanks for taking the time to read this. Steve.
