Horn replacement 700 90

A couple of questions related to the replacement of my set of horns (which are rusted out and no longer functioning) on my 1990 745T:

1) Could I use a couple of generic ("universal") horns from the local auto parts store, or should I order from Volvo or IPD?

2) Are there any tricks to removing the old horns?
