Torque Rod & Trailing Arm bushings 200 1984

My daughter is preparing to drive her 84' 245 DL from K.C. Missouri to Maine. A shop doing a "pre-trip" check out told her she needed to replace both trailing arm bushings and all torque rod bushings for a total of six. She confirms that there is some "clunking going on" in the rear end.

They quoted her a handsome price for replacing them. Questions: If she delays replacement, what is the harm or danger? How big a deal is it to replace those bushings? Is there a source other than Volvo? Ken.
