Head Liner Removal - Best Way 700 1990

Time for new headliner for my 740 sedan. AS I see it the only two possible ways to get it out are 1) through the back window, or 2) through an open fron door. Obviously, taking out the back window is a big deal buit taking it out through the door risks damage.

Can anyone who has done this weigh in on the preferred technique?

Also, is the Volvo dealer best source for headliner fabic? What is preferred adhesive, the 3M Headliner Adhesive or other? How long would you allow for the job.
