The front speakers on my 760 had the same symptoms. Some of the soldered connections on the interior of the seperate amp mounted by the steering column had cracked (thanks, Stoney!). From the postings at the time, this is a relatively common problem. Had the connections re-soldered, and haven't had a problem since. Good luck.
