99 & 44/100ths of the aftermerket radios sound better than and have more watts per channel output than an OEM Volvo CR 712 am/fm/cassette unit.

Blaupunkt, Kenwood, Sony, etc all have decent units in the 25-35 watt range with decent Cassette head response for under $150..www.crutchfield.com ships them with the free harness adapter and faceplate so install is easy.

I do recommend considering replacement of the stock speakers with new units as the OWM units used paper cones and were marginal at best.

Polk, Pioneer, BA, etc all have good 4in speakers that will be a drop in install and will do just fine. 5.25in speakers can be fitted with a little work as an upgrade in sound quality.
