ZF steering gearbox question 120-130 63

Just a quick question. Steering in the latest acquisition is a wee bit loose, and can most likely be taken up with the adjuster in the top of the steering gearbox. Unfortunately, I can loosen the jam nut with no problem, but can't turn the screw. If I back the whole thing out so I can clean it up and hit it with some B'laster, am I going to find any surprises (like a bunch of springs, bearings, and seals) flying out at me? Thanks.
