Intercooler 200 1983

Please help as soon as possible!!!!! I made a stupid mistake and decided to try to put an intercooler from a donor car (84 244) onto my '83 242. Problem is that I have a scheduled vacation tomorrow with my girlfriend ... so I have to get this problem fixed.

Here it is, We have everything installed, but the car runs extremely rough and smells rich. We are lucky if we can even keep the car running. I suspect it has something to do with the boost pressure. Any ideas?
