HELP - STIFF STEERING TURNING LEFT 700 1989

The steering is stiff wheni turn left. I have to apply much pressure to turn left especially first thing in the morning. As I turn left it suddenly gives. Turning right it feels normal.

what should i check/do?

Car is Right hand drive.
