The 245 performs flawlessly again 200 86

(Coming to ya via laptop 'puter in Southern California...)

Drove from Dublin, California to Los Angeles Saturday afternoon to visit with my g/f's folks. We left No. California at 14:00 and arrived in the suburbs of L.A. at 18:50. Total distance was 353 miles. We maintained an average speed of about 75mph, pushing 80+ for awhile on I-5. Left with a full tank of gas and didn't need to fill up again until we got off the interstate in El Lay. Put 13.3 gallons into the 15.8 gallon tank, which averages to 26.4mpg.

Pretty uneventful, which is fine by me. Yet another testament to the durability and longevity of these old beasts. We're thinking about driving across the desert tomorrow into Vegas.

Speaking of deserts...the A/C kept us reasonably cool on the way down. Didn't really get "cold" until I had been doing 75 for about 10 min, but we were comfortable. Not saying much...I had the thing cranked well into the "orange" zone, shoulda had ice on the vents.

I may very well turn over 180K by the end of the week....
