spark plug end caps -- better or worse? ALL

I replaced a set of Bosch spark plug wires with a new set of Bougicords. The Bosch set, and every set I've ever used on my Volvos, require you to unscrew the end cap from the spark plug and the wire's boot grips the threaded end. The Bougicord set, on the other hand, requires the end cap to be in place.

Is there anything intrinsicly better or worse in one design vs. the other? Just curious.
