Wagon antenna vs garage - what do you do? 700 1991

I just pulled my "new" '91 wagon into the garage. What was that noise??? Oh, it was the radio antenna hitting the entry to the garage. What do people do about that? Do you just remember to turn off the radio before you pull in? Or is there a way to "permanently" shorten the antenna?
