Did I install the wrong tach? 200 1987

I recently bought a tach/small clock on ebay. The installation went pretty well, but now that it's in and working, i'm not sure if i was sold the right part. does anyone know the redline speeds for each gear? (non turbo, 5-spd man) in the owner's manual, it gives you maximum "recommended" speeds for each gear. I always figured these to be somewhere near the redline.

i'd rather hear that i was wrong and the tach is right, because that means that i won't have to be up to my elbows in volvo again.
