Breather Box Clogged 200 1982

1982 240 GL sedan. Had an oil leak from front seals I cleaned out the flame trap and I poked a coat hangr down the tube from which the flame trap resided and it only went in about an 1 1/4" is this indicative of a plugged breather box? What's the best way to remove the box and clean it out? I can barely see the tube sticking out with all the fuel injection stuff around it. Thanks again for your help.
