Switch Panel and A/C Lights out- how do I fix them and Strange Headlight Switch 900 1991

I put a new ignition switch in my 1991 945. Afterwards, the switch panel, a/c and transmission selector lights will not work. What did I do? The headlight switch was doing wierd things. The parking lights will not come on by themselves. When they are selected the headlights come on too. So I put a switch from the junk yard in and it got wierder. Now the headlights are on all the time in any switch postion. They will only turn off when the ignition switch is turned off. I need help on this one too.
