Gas in the oil! Is it time to quit? 1988 745 Ti.

I have here a 1988 745 intercooled turbo. It's only here for aproval more or less. I checked the oil and it's thin and smells of gas. Is it time to quit? I know it's a dumb question but the car is so beautiful I hate to give up on it. I'm also not up to doing a complete rebuild.

What do you think?
