Headliner, it aint so hard. 700 1989

I just got done installing my new headliner on my 740 Wagon. I suppose the wagons are eaiser than cars, because it slides in and out the big back door. But I just followed the procedure in the 700/900 FAQ and I had great success. Time will only tell how long it holds up, but for now I am very pleased with my job. Total expenses were about $70, that includes two cans of the 3M spray on glue at $9 each. The lowest quote I got was about $200 with a one year warranty. The hardest part of the whole job, was prying off the old plastic trim without breaking it, you must be gentle. I did prime the board with some spray paint after I removed the old foam and sanded it a little bit. That glue is definately "on there", there is NO way to get the fabric off without damaging the foam backing, so get it on straight the first time. I consider this a definate do it yourself job, if you can handle a few screwdrivers and a can of spray on glue, oh and it is quite messy getting the old stuff out too.
