Low on power at highway speeds 700 1987

My 87 740 has 214,XXX miles on it and lately has developed a lack of power when in overdrive (ZF I think transmission, has integral overdrive)at higher speeds. It seems like it has all it can do to maintain 65-70 mph. I have replaced the main fuel pump and filter about 30,000 miles ago, the distributor cap, distributor O-rings, rotor, plugs, and plug wires a few hundred miles ago, and the air filter is clean. Occasionally (every hundred miles or so) it will miss (barely noticeable) and I have never seen the tach drop, so don't believe it is ignition. It burns very little oil (quart per 2000 miles) so don't believe the engine is worn out although I haven't done a compression check. It runs great if not under load. Are these the symtoms of a dirty mass meter or bad fuel pressure regulator, or ??? Thanks.
