OIl and Filter Change, Which is better? 83, 87, 91

I have for years changed oil every 3,333 miles and oil filter every 10,000 miles on my 244 and 744s. The engines always went for at least 250,000 miles. Recently I went to oil and filter change every 5,000 miles. At least half my mileage is at highway speeds of at least 60mph. Any ideas which would be a better oil and filter change schedule?
