What are the symptons of failing idle control motor 200 1986

Hello everyone

What are the most common symptons for a failing idle control motor. If it is failing could you get no start. Could it act like no spark with the engine just cranking over with no hits at all. If so, what is actually taking place at that time which is causing no hit at all.

Also it appears that up until 1988 the part # for b230f eng are the same for the 200 and 700's. 88 on is a different number. Does anyone know the difference between the 2 . Have the one but not the other.
