Things about my Volvo lighter jack that suck:
* Loose in its mounting against the panel -- it can be rotated around willy-nilly.
* contact is intermittent even when the accessory jacks are firmly in place... you gotta move it around into weird places and hope it stays in place.
* shuts off with the engine (but you volvo nuts already knew that one was coming from a mile away)
Is this (other than the shutoff part, of course) a consistent flaw of the Volvo lighter jack, or is it just me or maybe the years right close around 1982?
What's a good change? Is there a particular make/model of car I can scavenge a jack from in the junk yard to do a drop in replacement? And where should I patch in the constant-current feed into the jack? Directly from the battery? (hopefully not!)
Thanks!
