Tailight Lens Leakage, WHERE? 200 1990

I have some water getting inside the drivers side rear tailight lens housing on a '90 240 sedan. The water gets in from rain and blows th light bulb. I heard theres a kit to repair this but I really don't want to spend the $$ ,unless thats really necessary. I really don't to spend a lot time gluing the wrong areas. What's the fix??
