About 9 mo ago I had Car X (don't give me a hard time!!) put rotors and pads
all the way around on my 70K mi wagon. 3 mo ago, the brakes were shuddering
again when coming to a stop. They turned the front rotors, told me that the
calipers were Ok and sent me on my way. 2 mo later (the car now has 80K mi
on it) same problem. I took it back to them yesterday and tthey said that
it is PROBABLY the calipers and that they would replace them for me for
approx $390. By the way there is a hot stripe on one rotor, and that wheel
does seem to drag compared to the other one. When I asked about the rotors,
he said that he would give me 2 front ones under warranty.
Questions:
1.Am I being ripped off on the calipers? $180 each sounds high to me.
2. should I just go to Volvo and have them do it (obviously they will charge
me for the rotors)
3. Should I just do it myself?
