OK all you budding Edisons out there.....here's the deal. Had a wonderful old set of bulb and reflector Cibie headlights on my MGB, but on the way to an out of state show, caught a stone in BOTH of them and so, blew away about $125 in headlights just like that. Stopped off at a local import parts store and since I couldn't replace them exactly picked up a nice set of Hella lamps for only slightly less money. Didn't really like the light pattern though, so I called a vintage light supplier who ran an ad in Hemmings and he was kind enough to supply me with a pair of Cibies and threw in a couple of 80/100 watt bulbs for only a few bucks more. Frankly, now that I think of it, the Hellas are good enough in the MG and I'd like to put the Cibies in the 122. Where am I going with all this? Simple- will the wiring (it's in good shape) be able to take the current draw without burning up the whole harness, or should I play safe and leave out the 80/100s? I've never been one to shy away from too much light, but I think that the sight of a flaming 122 blasting down the freeway might be just too "over the top." What's the verdict? As always, thanks!
