My '83 240 wagon simply stopped working.
I parked, turned off ignition. Noticed I had left AC on, so turned key to On and turned AC off (superstition?). Just for fun, I started the car, but to my horror it cranked and cranked but did nothing else. Not a sputter, nothing. Seems like no fuel getting sent.
The reason I started the car up (do I need a reason?)is I recently repaired several problems: ac compressor/1yr ago, starter(the orignal went out after 170k)/3 mos ago, steering rack(w/kit - great)/1 mo., and 2 weeks ago replaced headlight switch and cleaned ac dial. While in the dash, I replaced the power lock relay because of intermintent function, but the the problem seems be in the doors - i'll clean all that later.
I have done the jumper trick to test tht fuel pumps - they whir.
No fuses blown, inside engine bay or in cabin.
I replaced the fuel pump relay just in case. 11 bucks.
My fear is that I have done something to wipe out the ECU.
Any ideas?
