Hey everyone
I replaced the gasket on the throttle body today. When I reassembled, I noticed the rod which connects the throttle plate to the throttle drum could adjust the idle speed. That made me wonder what the adjusting knob does. I noticed that it seems to regulate air from one hole to another hole on each side of the throttle plate. Does this regulate whether the engine runs lean or rich. The engine seemed to be idled a little too high so I first adjusted the rod so that the throttle plate was as closed as possible. It still seemed a little fast so I very carefully turned the idle knob just a quarter turn and the engine seemed to idle down a little. Working in the dark here but learning a lot thanx to everyones great help.
Going for emission test here in Missouri and exhaust does not smell entirely clean.
