The search for the elusive ecu? 280 000 951 700 1989

Well, another wild goose chase today. The 89 sedan I have been working on needs a fuel injection ecu. The price tag is $796. at Volvo dealer and $25-$50 at a junkyard.

I called two or three in my area - one thought they might have an 89 the othre was sure it had one already off. 15 miles away - yes! Sent my sister, friend and my dog in an 86 wagon (with the old part in hand) to pick it up.

Naturally, the $50 one has the wrong number of pins - dog, sister and friend are in Ohio and have to jump the bridge to Kentucky to another pick-pull. If that yard has one, it's $25 - but no luck.

Turns out the unit I have is a remanufactured (by Volvo). I called the local dealer and got some newer Volvo part numbers 811035 or 8601056??

My part number is bosch 0 280 000 951 Volvo number 9146223 Evidently 89-90 was a bad year for ecus??

Anyone else out there have a line on where to find one? I can send my dog over to get it - at least the dog had fun at the junkyard.
