90 740 braakes, locationg pins?

I was checking 90 740 wagons front brakes(will replace soon - Girling pads), one of the 2 bolts (top) goes in but doesnt seem to tighten(but seems to go in all the way) all the way,(stripped??) bottom tightens fine. This week when I repalce pads, can I get new bolts w/ pads, new shims? Anything else? Thanks for any hints, it seems fairly straight forward, Heinz
