Different engine in a 120 series?

I may be a heretic by saying this: Can you stick a different engine into a 120 series? I was thinking of a 350 Chevy. Will it fit? Is the Volvo unibody construction or body on top of chassis?

I was figuring on an engine with a little more horsepower.
