Well,
I have had all my suspension redone....recently had 30mm lowering springs put on to the car, this is when the problem started. I've just had a new clutch put in, 2 new universals put in (didn't do centre bearing 'cause there was none in stock). Now, i get a REALLY annoying vibration when taking off in first gear (with 2 people in the car), it goes, *slight* then goes BRRRRRMMMM (sorta "hard" vibrating) at 2000rpm, then it lessens, then goes BAAAAD at 3000rpms........I am talking feel the car vibrating here, not just a slight vibrating. The more people i put in the car, and the longer i drive it, the worse it gets. Now when i drive with 3 people in the car (as i did today), at 3000rpm in 1st gear the floor vibrates, i mean, the seats vibrate and everything. It isn't as bad in second, but is slightly more consitent, ie (esp. after driving for a while), and it will sort of do a similar thing in 3rd, but harder to notice. After driving with 3 people for 1 hour, it becomes almost constant, but not badly, just bad enough, so that when the third person gets out, you notice how smooth the car is.... But, when there's 2 people, again, its just the way it normally is with 2 people. (semi-vibraty).
I was told by someone that i need to replace the centre bearing carrier, i undid it, and it's REALLY smooth, but there's about 1-2mm that i can "pull" the shaft down before it hits the "bottom" of the bearing holder movement. i can push it up about 4-5mm.
I heard that i could move the c.b. and carrier up about 1/4 of an inch to stop the vibrating, BUT, it doesn't matter how far i move it up, it "bends" the rubber coupling thing on the driveshaft....so i don't know, i didn't try it, 'cause it bends it.....
Anyway, ANYONE got ANY idea what's going on? it's been driving me nuts for ages now, so please, please help!
THANKS!
