Howdy folks, more woes of the transmission sort. First, the good news- the mechanic who was doing my transmission at the shop met me at the auto craft shop on post... we had the tranny dropped, flywheel repositioned properly, and flywheel reinstalled in an hour and a half... this guy was a well oiled machine! Anyways, that obviously solved the problem with the misfiring and such once the crank position sensor was properly oriented and ignition timing restored. Now on to the new problem. Somehow (I'm not even going to speculate because I'm never going back to that tranny shop) my kickdown cable got stretched a good 3/4 inch or so, so I've got to replace it. I've got the part on order, I'm just wondering if there's anything procedurally I should keep an eye on. I'm going to check the FAQ, and I assume that the proper procedure is already in there. If it isn't, has anyone done this recently that can give me a step-by-step? Thanks. By the way, with the kickdown cable completely disconnected, the tranny won't shift until about 5500 rpm... it's kind of wierd and has taken some getting used to, but it's a whole lot of fun to just HAMMER it when the car's still in first and have it STAY in first the whole way through the power band... what a rocket! The 2500 rpm stall converter made a huge difference, although if I had it to do over, I might have gone even higher, like about 2750. Anyways, thanks in advance for the help.
