I've got a 1990 Volvo 740 Station Wagon, standard 2.3 liter engine. After since I had it parked in the garage for three weeks in July/August it has been difficult to start. Jumpstarting has been the only option every other time.
Finally I got a new battery, new distributor cap and new spark plugs. This didn't help. When I got it started it would very often start on only two or three cylinders and on all four after about 1-2 minutes. Since Monday I can't even jumpstart it. The engine turns but it doesn't seem to get any spark. Last time I tried it even had difficulties turning.
I have thought about putting in new cords to and from the distributor cap but an expert I talked to said that's not likely to be the problem. He suggested temperature guage.
If anyone can advise I would be more than gratefull.
Regards,
Erik
