oil pressure gauge on a turbo 200 82

i have a 244 turbo and the oil bar gauge shows full it has worked before but no longer does. it can be made to, and sometimes returns to the full left like it should normally when car is off but then when turned on it goes to the far right. i have no idea what could of caused this or how to fix it. any thoughts?
