ABS warning light on after 40mph 700 1988

I wonder if anyone can help me with this. My ABS fault light comes on when I hit 40mph. It use to be on after about 3mph but I changed the front wheel sensors and cleaned the sensor wheels. But it still comes on when I get to 40mph. This is really annoying me.....where should I look next?
