Brake Booster - Ticking?! 140-160 72

I noticed it today while tuning the car. Used a piece of hose from my ear to the booster and sure enough, it's the booster. Loudest at the plastic connector where the hose from the manifold joins the booster. Actually, I've had the ticking noise for some time now , just never knew where it was coming from. It's not predictable. It never lasts more than a minute, or less. It's ticking, then it's not. My brakes have had problems in the past. I've replaced hoses, rebuilt calipers (freed stuck pistons) but never touched the brake booster. The car stops OK, but not "on a dime." The wheels cannot be locked up.

A Brake Booster Ticking?!

Any thoughts and or help greatly appreciated.
