Unable to remove alternator 200 1980

I tried to change my alternator but ran into some trouble. First, I could not remove the fan that's attached to the water pump. There's a single bolt in the middle of the fan that's about 17 mm, but it would not budge. When I tried to loosen it, the fan belts moved.

Next, I could not loosen the long bolts that hold the alternator in place.
