Backup light switch (M46) power flow question 200 83

My backup lights just stopped working altogether last Fri. Fuse is good, bulbs are good. I wouldn't expect the switch to fail completely like this (you would think jiggling it around would make momentary contact somewhere, but it doesn't.) So I'm going to verify the wiring before I believe its the switch.

Does the power flow from the fusebox to one side of the switch, then out the other side and through the backup lights to the common taillight ground? My Haynes is buried right now, and I'd like to check this out quick when I get home this afternoon.

TIA...
