disconnecting brake lines for strut asmbly removal? 200 1984

how does one disconnect the brake lines from the car to take the strut assembly out? the haynes manual said to remove the bracket bolt.. so the bracket is free.... but all the lines are still connected so i cant remove the strut assembly from the car to put it in a vice and change the cartridige... thanks!
