RE: Mountain Driving 200 1989

I bought my Volvo 240 GL three months ago and want to take it to the mountains for snowboarding. I think the car is fine for city driving with a 4-cylinder. It is also a heavy, but well built car. Does any one have experience driving up to 7,000 feet in elevation with one. I afraid it might overheat or wear out the engine, especially with 2-3 people on board with equipment. Thanks all your .02.
