Overboost cut-out switch 700 1989

Hey all...

So I was playing with my G-Valve tonight, and previously I had it at about .8 bar. So I gave it another turn, and took it for a little test drive around the block. WHOOOSHHIISSSSSSSCREEEEEEEE BAM! Then nothing. It was as if I had slammed on the brakes. I put the clutch in, thought "oh shit, what did I just break", and started accelerating again. Engine ran perfectly, so I floored it again, and the same thing happened. So I tried some part-throttle acceleration. If I stayed below about ~.9 bar, all was great until I cracked the throttle that last bit and the boost increased.

So is this the overboost protection switch I've heard about? If so, how can I adjust it so I can run 1-1.2 bar?

Thanks in advance
